Reset Password in Windows 10 Enterprise without Losing Data

Solution 1: Use Ctrl-Alt-Delete keys. (You have password and need to change it.)

This is the easiest way to reset user account password in Windows 10 Enterprise when you need to change your password for security reason. You don’t need anything but your current password. Step 1: Sign in your user account in Windows 10 Enterprise by using your current password. Press CTRL-ALT-DELETE keys at the same time and then select “Change a password”.

Step 2: Under the user name, enter your old password.

Step 3: Under the old password, enter a new password and then enter it again to confirm. Then submit.

Step 4: Your password has been changed. Click “OK” button to get back into the user account. Please remember the new password that you must enter it in next sign-in.

 

Solution 2: Use Command Prompt to Reset Windows 10 Enterprise Password. (You have lost password to one of your user accounts. This requires Admin Privileges.)

When you forget Windows 10 Enterprise password and lose access to one of your user accounts, you can use command prompt to reset the forgotten password without data loss, but you must have an admin account available on this computer. To reset user account password in Windows 10 Enterprise with command, just complete the following steps.

Step 1: Login Windows 10 Enterprise by using an available admin account. In the search bar, type cmd and then select “Command Prompt” from the search result.

Step 2: Command Prompt is opened as administrator. At the command window, type “net user” and then press Enter key on your keyboard. All user accounts info will be list under the command line.

Step 3: To reset password for a user account, type “net user [user name] [new password]” and then press Enter key. Refer to the following screenshot, “Dave” is a user name, “Wimware@123” is the new password you want. It will show you that the command completed successfully. The old password has been replaced with the new one. All data of this user account will remain unchanged.

 

Solution 3: Use Password Reset Disk to Reset Windows 10 Enterprise without Login. (You have forgotten password but didn’t have admin privileges.)

If you lost password to your Windows 10 Enterprise admin account which is the only administrator on your computer, you will need to use a third-party method to reset the forgotten password. The first thing you should try is your password reset disk, which was created when you still can sign in the admin account. This is a good way to prevent a forgotten password.

So, if you have previously created a password reset disk for your admin account in Windows 10 Enterprise, follow this guide to reset the lost password without login, without admin privileges.

Step 1: Boot your computer. In the Windows 10 Enterprise login screen, enter a wrong password or leave the password box blank then submit. It will show you that the password you entered is incorrect. Just click “OK” to go back to the login screen.

Step 2: Insert your password reset disk to the computer. Under the password box, click “Reset password” link.

Step 3: Password reset wizard pops up, click “Next” to continue.

Step 4: Pull down the drive list and select your password reset disk. The wizard will use the information on the disk to help you reset the password. Click “Next” to continue.

Step 5: Choose a new password for your admin account. You will be able to log on to this admin account with the new password. Click “Next” to continue.

Step 6: Click “Finish” button to close the wizard. That’s all.

 

Solution 4: Reset Windows 10 Enterprise Administrator Password with Password Reset Tool. (You don’t have password reset disk or admin privileges.)
